This looks a bit ominous but having a having a Sausage Head Charcuterie board might be the perfect touch for your Halloween party.

From MyRecipes on Pinterest  below are are recommendations for the charcuterie board, but you could use whatever you like.

Meat

• 10 (7.2-oz.) bags Beef sticks

Produce

• 10 Cocktail peanut, halves
• 4 Red bell pepper strips, roasted

Condiments

• 1 Course-grained mustard
• 1 Pimiento-stuffed olive

Snacks

• 1 Crackers, Whole-grain

Dairy

• 1 Cheese, mini round
• 1 Cheeses, Assorted
• 1/2 tsp Cream cheese

As I love to DIY, I thought I would share six easy DIY Spider web t-shirts from blogs I follow or stumbled across that you can make in an evening using simple techniques with items you may have on hand or are low cost.

DIY Black Widow T-Shirt at one of my favorite blogs, Trash To Couture, using a short sleeve plain black t-shirt to make the webs to glue or sew to a long sleeve black t-shirt. Check out her instructions here,

The above project is a No-Sew T-shirt web by mmmmqc on Instructables.com that involves cutting the back then weaving the fabric to create a design.

This fun t-shirt idea by Paint Brushes and Popsicles doesn't involve any cutting; just a t-shirt, cardboard, clips and bleach pen and simple enough for children to do with supervision.

Here is another fun idea from Trash to Couture to make another spider web t-shirt using a plain black t-shirt.  For instructions see her site here

This DIY project by JoAnn Fabrics is just using making tape and taping down a spider web design then using Tulip Colorshot paint that they sell to spray over the top, then you just pull up the tape and you have an instant spiderweb shirt!

Jack-O'-Lantern Pizza at Papa John's

From now until the end of the month, Papa John's is offering a 

Jack-O'-Lantern Pizza.

It is a thin crust large pepperoni pizza with two black olives for the eyes.  It comes uncut so as not to spoil the Jack-O-Lantern effect.   It has the same taste as a normal thin crust pepperoni pizza but some parts have a higher concentration of pepperoni or cheese so it tastes slightly different than normal due to that, but still is something fun and different for the season.

It is available now until the end of the month.  Where I live it is $11, but prices may vary).

Fright Night - Zombie Walk 2019 - Downtown Fort Wayne

Mike Myers, Zombie Brides, and Dinosaurs, OH MY!

It was a treat to see the wide variety of costumes worn by people of all ages for this year's Zombie Walk.

The camera I took to capture the event from the beginning didn't work out, but I did walk back two blocks and was able to capture the above on the camera on my phone.

Candy Corn Pizza

Apparently, this trend started in 2017 after a post on Twitter when a poster topped a frozen pizza with candy corn, baked it and posted it online.

It divided people with most of heavily being on the negative side, like in the video above and like the Twitter poster below:

Ok, I saw a photograph of a pizza topped...with candy corn.

I am ready to go to war with whoever did that. And I have nothing against

candy corn BUT I WILL STAND FOR CIVILIZATION AGAINST SUCH A THREAT.

Of course if you are a sugar-loving kid, you might have a different opinion as this young gal tried the original version of candy corn dumped on a frozen pizza and liked it.


For one that more people might like though, I have to agree with the video from Mashed that using a cookie-like base, peanut butter, and Reeces Pieces would be an improvement and could actually be delicious.

I have made "Fruit" pizza (which everyone loved) and the base for that was a sugar cookie crust topped with cream cheese and powdered sugar "sauce" and topped with cut-up fresh fruit, like Kiwi, Strawberries, and Pineapple.  I think using candy corn with a sprinkling of other candy toppings might work well also.



I think this might be fun to try if you have a child as they may like it and enjoy how it grosses the adults out. 

It also could be fun to have at a party or carry-in, although this makes me think of a phrase I overhead a woman a Costco buying something that might be gross to serve at a party "It's will be fine.  I also bought a lot of alcohol.  Somebody will eat it".

Decorated Houses

Tonight I snapped a few pics when driving around the town where I live (Fort Wayne, IN) of houses decorated for Halloween and thought I would share them.

Love the spooky trees with the gravestones.

Love the spider web made with lights.  Would love to see bats upstairs though.

Spooky lights on the porch, but think the upstairs on this one could use bats and spooky lights.

Lots of little details on this house, but think it needs some bats on the upper windows. 

Fewer details but has bats!

Large spider attacking a bush.  I heard that same comment after a 2004 Presidential debate.

Looks like ghostly figures cloaked in corn stalks...perhaps Children of the Corn?

A cute, tiny house with several decorations out front.

While it looks like there are depressed witches and pumpkins, it is like the strong winds today took their toll which caused the deflation.

Dollar Tree Halloween Items

I went into Dollar Tree to see what Halloween items I could find and was pleasantly surprised at the abundant amount of products I found in a corner near the door.

While selections can vary from store to store, here are the items I found at a local store and everything is only $1.

Solar stakes to line a walkway or driveway and skeleton headbands.

Wall decorations

Section O Skeletons

More skeleton items and tombstones

Masks and face paint

Lots of name brand candy for Trick or Treaters!

Mold, trays and assorted decorations

Scarves and Trick or Treating bags and pumpkins.

Lots of glittery Halloween garland

Glitter skulls.

Welcome to Day 31 of Countdown to Halloween.   As I live in a cul-de-sac that has very few children I don't get Trick or Treaters so drove around and checked out the Trick or Treaters in nearby neighborhoods.  One of the cleverest was a boy about 10 in  DIY "Chuckie" Good Guy Doll like in the "Child's Play" movie holding his Princess little sister's hand.

While out I found a few more decorated houses that I thought I would share on this final day of Countdown to Halloween.
