UNUSUAL AD: Falstaff Beer Advertising They Got Out of The Soda Pop Business and Back Into Beer

LIFE Magazine - 8/22/69

We used to a Falstaff Brewery in town (closed 1990) and heard where the grain was kept had rats the size of a Bulldog, but I did not know during Prohibition the brewer has turned to make Root Beer, Ginger Ale, Lemon Soda and even curing hams and bacon.

In the 1960's, it was the 3rd largest brewer in the US.  I have always lived in the Midwest and here it was more known as the "Working Man's" beer as it was affordable but still had a decent flavor

Sadly, the rights sold to Pabst and they stopped making the brand in 2005 after limited sales in 2004, although it somewhat similar to a Heineken.
