CREEPY CLOWN MOTEL

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of Countdown to Halloween.

As a new adaptation of Stephen King's "IT" was recently released, I thought I would share this Creepy Clown Motel.

Clowns; people either seem to love them or hate them, but this Clown motel seems to land more on the creepy side.

The motel is located in Tonopah, Nevada and a LA Times article as "a tiny desert town plopped somewhere between Las Vegas, Reno and a “Twilight Zone” episode" and Ghost Adventure shot an episode there.   Also, the video game "Call of Duty has it included in part of their landscape.

Facebook page indicates the motel has 31 rooms, both smoking and non-smoking rooms, and that each room is equipped with a tv, a fridge and a microwave.

The ratings on www.tripadvisor.com range from Excellent to such as Heidi K indicating:

"Barring the transparent creepiness, the locality is infested with black cats and the cleaning-man wears clown pants! The room was clean enough and the staff was friendly."
and CindyW607 saying:

"The rooms are large. They are pet-friendly. They are knowledgeable about local history and events. They personally visit the local eateries and give accurate assessments. The price is low which is perfect for us because we sleep in our room. They provide hot coffee in the morning in the office. Rooms have refrigerators and microwaves. I have stayed at several motels & hotels in Tonopah, including the Mizpah and I keep returning to the clown."
to Terrible, such as jdog17 stating:
"The town of Tonopah is, without a doubt, once of the ugliest towns in this country. I've been around, believe me when I say Tonopah looks like a Martian colony. It's very dusty and grimy. A haze seems to float through the air. There is nothing welcoming about it. Anyway -- the Clown Motel is pretty much part of the ambience of Tonopah. The room I stayed in was dirty in a deep, abiding way -- as if it had been covered with grime for decades. The amenities were . . . non-existent. The lock on the door was not a deadbolt, so I didn't feel particularly safe either. This place is only fun in retrospect. Makes for a great story, as in "I survived the Clown Motel."
and two other users that rated terrible reporting that porn was being filmed there.
