CHRISTMAS: INFLATABLE CHRISTMAS LAWN DECORATIONS OVERLOAD

 

There are so many snazzy inflatable decorations on this lawn you could probably do an I-Spy page for a book on it.  It will look like a magical Winter wonderland once it snows.

Spotted this near Tower Park in Warren, Indiana.

Social distancing due to the still-rising COVID-19 cases in many areas of the world has changed the way we live.  Visits to Santa are one of them.

As an adult, I can see this is an ingenious solution to keep kids from running up and trying to see Santa as an excited child is going to forget all about social distancing as soon as he sees them.  I would hope that there were vents for air somewhere on that wall so Santa could breathe properly.

If I were still a kid, it would just not be the same not being able to sit on Santa's lap to give him my Christmas list, but instead, have to yell or pantomime with a plastic wall in between us.   But at least I would still get to see Santa and deliver my list.

Embassy Animated Window Display - 2019

The Embassy Theater has continued the tradition that began in the 1920s when Wolf & Dessauer Department store with animatronic Christmas displays.

Below is a timeline in one of the current windows on display:



I think these are the ones that were originally on display at Wolf and Dessauer and on loan from the History Center.

From a distance it is harder to tell, but once you get close up (like the picture below) you can tell only one of the dogs is real.  How long did it take you to spot the real dog in the video?
